CORK FLOORING
In making cork flooring, no cork trees are cut down, only the bark is peeled without destroying the tree, and it grows back within nine years, ready to be harvested again.
Cork is probably the ultimate resilient flooring. It has excellent shock absorbing and sound deadening properties because of its unique cellular structure.50 percent of the volume of the material is comprised of air that acts as a natural shock absorber. Therefore, walking or standing on the floor is very comfortable and produces little fatigue.
Cork floor tiles are similar to parquet but with the added benefits of insulating against both temperature and noise.
