Quietdown Underlay : Quietdown is a rubber acoustic underlay available in easy-to-install 4′ x 3-1/2′ panels which is engineered to reduce sound transmission through sub floors. It can be installed below ceramic tile, laminate, and hardwood flooring. At 1/8” thick, Sound Down panels are thinner, lighter and stronger than conventional glued products, so hoisting, carrying, laying, and trimming Quietdown simply couldn’t be easier or more efficient.

Quietdown is made from Symar® recycled rubber and has an IIC rating of 48 under ceramic flooring and 61 beneath hardwood or laminates. As a result, Quietdown provides a higher level of comfort for condominium owners. Quietdown is also suited for institutional settings such as courthouses and hospitals, as well as semi-detached homes and anywhere else where noise transmission is a problem.

When laying hardwood or laminates, no gluing or fastening is ever required. Quietdown’s slippery top layer eliminates the need for slip paper, ensures you get the tightest joints in your floor, and allows flooring to slide effortlessly across the surface. Quietdown is also suited for “do-it-yourself” renovators, in any room where sound transmission is an issue (such as home theaters).

Like all Symar® products, Quietdown is engineered from recycled tires; as a result, it contributes to the “green content” in new construction.
