Please keep in mind that sanding and refinishing services are available for solid and engineered hardwood flooring products that have been fastened to a subfloor. Therefore if you have click floors or a floated tongue and groove product, refinishing is not possible. In the case of click floors, there is not enough wear layer on the product to allow for sanding and refinishing. When it comes to tongue and groove engineered hardwood flooring that has been floated, refinishing is not possible because the floors are not fastened to a subfloor and the vibration of the sanding machine will damage the floors.

Also resurfacing, also known as buffing, involves removing just the surface finish without taking the color off and re-applying the finish to bring back the floors to their original luster.
